Utility Billing

The Utility Billing division under the direction of the Administrative Services Department provides customer service, billing and revenue collections for water, sewer, surface water, garbage and a pass through charge for King County Sewer Treatment.

Utility bills are generated on the 30th of every month and due 25 days later. Payments must be received in the City offices by or on the due date to avoid late payment charges. Please contact our Utility Billing customer service at (425) 430-6852 between the hours of 8 a.m to 5 p.m, Monday through Friday if you have questions about your bill. For question related to garbage service please contact Waste Management at (206) 243-4050.

Account Information and Paying your Bill

The City of Renton is pleased to announce that our new payment system offers customers the ability to manage their utility accounts, make payments via echeck and/or Visa/Mastercard and to set up paperless billing and autopay. If you would like to receive a bill via email instead of a paper statement mailed to you please select that option once you are registered. You can also set up autopay and have your bill paid directly from a checking or Visa/Mastercard account automatically.

For property owners with rental properties

In lieu of filling out a tenant billing form and having it notarized, you can provide your tenant with your utility account number and they can create an account and pay online, manage their statement settings and monitor the account history.

New Property Owners - Please be aware that utility bills are tied to the real property served. Unpaid balances from the previous owner of the property will be transferred to the currently active utility account after the City has made every effort to collect the unpaid balance. Please contact your closing agent if you become aware of an unpaid balance to see if closing funds are available to clear the closed account.
